"Winter Shadows"

paper, rattan reed, polyfoam, varnish,  Private Collection

"Winter Shadows" was inspired by a snowshoe trip through the moon-lit winter woods next to my house. The full moon cast vibrant black shadows through the stark branches of the trees creating an intricate pattern on the deep snow. The shape of each of the six paper vessels is reminiscent of a snowshoe. The black wrapped stick is from my woods.
